A chairde! Parents, Guardians and friends!

This week we will be celebrating Irish language and culture as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge.  We will be busy learning Irish songs and dances, playing games through Irish, reading and writing stories, listening to Irish music and promoting the Irish language throughout the school.

We would like to invite you to join in the fun this Friday 15th March.

  • Join us between 8:30 and 9a.m. for an Irish breakfast in the school hall. Some of our students will be serving Irish tea, scones, brown bread and other baked goods for parents to enjoy! They will be helping parents to learn some Irish phrases so that you can have chat ‘as Gaeilge’ while you sip your tea!
  • Classes will be performing some Irish songs, poems and dances for parents in the hall between 9 and 10a.m.

Please come and celebrate with us! Bígí ann!

We would be delighted if anyone would like to contribute baked goods for our Irish Breakfast morning. Some ideas of Irish foods include:

  • Soda bread or brown bread
  • Scones
  • Barmbrack or fruit bread
  • Potato cakes
  • Oat cakes
  • Apple cake
  • Spreads: blackberry jam, apple jelly or Irish butter.
