Dear Parents

PETNS Green Team are excited for the year ahead and are looking forward to electing our new committee members later this month.

This year the Green Schools Committee is working towards receiving our fourth Green Flag at the school. This flag will be the Green Flag for Travel.

We will be renewing our three previous flags for Litter and Waste, Energy and Global Citizenship Marine Environment.

Every week our Committee members will monitor the classrooms at school to make sure we are still recycling, taking home our food waste for composting, switching off the lights and making sure there are no leaky taps in sight! We also hope to share news and events with the wider community through the school newsletter. Please check back here regularly for updates!

Ahead of our elections we would like to share an event which coincides with our application for the Green Flag for Travel. Walk to School Week takes place from the 19th-23rd September. We hope to see lots of our students walking, scooting or cycling to school this week.

Also coming up on Saturday September 17th is a Composting workshop in the allotments in Powerstown which will provide you with lots of tips and help on composting. We look forward to working together this year and achieving our goal at Green Flag number 4!

Stay tuned for more updates!
