Children with Special Educational Needs

Some children that enrol in school have been referred to professionals such as Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Paediatrician and/or Public Health Nurse in the past. In some cases there are documents and reports in relation to a child’s assessment and/or progress. It is essential that all documentation in relation to your child is presented to the school on or before Thursday 3rd of April. The Department of Education requires us to forward ALL DOCUMENTATION to the National Council for Special Education. This may allow us to apply for extra supports for your child in school. This information is also used to developing learning programmes for your child. If you do not inform the school of any assessments or referrals (ongoing or past) made for your child and present the relevant paperwork to the school you may be in breach of our enrolment policy and your child’s enrolment could be deemed invalid.
