The Maple Class were busy learning about Halloween this week, exploring the history of the harvest celebration and the traditions that go with it. As part of this, they baked a traditional Irish fruit cake, báirín breac. They measured all the ingredients carefully and all got involved stirring and mixing before we baked it in the oven.

In true Irish fashion, they then all sat around and had a chat with cups of tea and slices of the báirín breac. They had a lovely morning and all really liked the báirín breac.

Well done Maple Class!
