In December our school came up with lots of slogans related to our Green Flag for Travel. Classes had the opportunity to vote for their favourite one and the winning slogan was announced this week. Congratulations to the Beech Class who came up with the winning slogan:

Don’t be a fool, walk to school!

We will be displaying our Green Code around the school and encouraging as many people as possible to walk to school. Later this year we will hold a WOW day as part of our Action Plan. 

Our committee members took a survey to their classes to find out what mode of transport is most common throughout the school. We will publish the results of the survey in the coming week. 

Our Committee members also watched a video by Dublin Local Authorities and VOICE (Voice of Irish Concern for the Environment) about guidance for how to manage waste at school. Here is a link for the video. The video encourages families to send in waste free lunches where possible. We look forward to sharing more news on our Green Flag progress in the coming weeks.
