In PETNS all staff use the school’s mediation script to investigate incidents and to help resolve conflict when it arises. 

Mediation ensures that

• children’s voices are always heard. 
• staff are aware of the context of all incidents
• children are involved in deciding on resolutions to ensure that everyone can move on. 

We have found the use of mediation very positive in the school. All staff investigate incidents using the same script, therefore pupils are aware of expected behaviours and how to resolve conflict.
