Today Occupational Therapists and Speech, Speech and Language Therapists and Psychologists from the School Age Disability Team and Daughters of Charity came to our school to help us learn about Autism Spectrum Condition so that we can be really understanding of our differences and similarities and to help us to be good friends to people with Autism.

We did some sensory awareness activities to help us to become aware of what it can be like for someone with motor difficulties to do everyday tasks.  We saw some videos made by children with Autism explaining what their diagnosis means to them.  A boy with Autism visited some classes and spoke about things he likes and doesn’t like.  We also spoke about what it might be like to have Autism and how we can be good friends to people with Autism.

We learned a lot but we also impressed the therapists with how much we already know.  We are so proud of the boys and girls in our school for being so aware of Autism!
