We are celebrating our first ‘Heritage Week’ in P.E.T.N.S. and would like to invite families to be a part of it!

On Wednesday 20^th January, we will be hosting a Grandparents Day where we are inviting grandparents or any older family members to visit their grandchildren’s class. The junior classes would like to have some fun and play games with visiting grandparents. While the senior classes would like to have a chat with visiting grandparents about the differences in schools/growing up/technology between now and they grew up. 

 On Thursday 21^st January, we will be holding Artefact Sharing Day where parents and children are invited to bring artefacts into classes for a ‘Show-and-Tell’ style session where the artefact is presented to the class and they ask questions about the function, origin, materials, etc of the item. Artefacts can be any traditional/cultural object that you feel might be of interest to the children eg Somali dhiil milk pot; Irish butter paddles; Russian matryoshka doll; etc.

Please let your child’s class teacher know if you can join us for any of these sessions. We look forward to celebrating all our wonderful grandparents and learning all about the artefacts that you would like to share with us.
