To finish up our study of Japan last week, we made some vegetarian sushi from scratch. First of all, Keara prepared the sushi rice (a stickier version of rice) and the vegetables (carrots, celery, peppers and avocado). We placed a piece of seaweed on the chopping board. We pressed the rice into the seaweed and then put on our chosen ingredients. We rolled up the sushi, which was the most challenging part of the process. Finally, we cut them into pieces and tasted the sushi! We dipped into into soy sauce and wasabi. It was a very successful end to our exciting month learning about the land of the rising sun!
