wmhdToday, on World Mental Health Day we  recognise all people who live with and have experienced difficulties with their mental health. We also acknowledge the right for all families, and the communities in which they live – to good mental, social and emotional wellbeing.

Here at PETNS we are focusing strongly on our pupils Social and Emotional Well being.

Presence of Positive Social & Emotional Well – Being

  • be happy 

  • be interested in helping others 

  • have positive self-esteem   

  • be positive about the future       

  • relate positively to family    

  • get along with teachers     

  • get along with classmates, including those who are different

  • participate in a wide range of activities   

  • feel safe and free from physical harm 

  • volunteer to help others     

  • relate positively to family     

  • feel like he or she belongs and make responsible choices to stay out of trouble   

  • enjoys being in school

  • contributes to community          

World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.

The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
